Identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools. Being a Plumber complies with all required safety, building code and inspection requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and other instructions. Additionally, Plumber has completed required apprenticeship. Typically requires a high school diploma. Requires Journeyman Plumber status. Requires a State License for plumbing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plumber works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. - Assist journeyman/journeywoman plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems
- Learn and apply basic plumbing techniques and skills under the guidance of experienced plumbers
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating pipe lengths and angles
- Mechanical knowledge to understand plumbing systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with construction plumbing is a plus
- Proficiency in using power tools for cutting, drilling, and shaping pipes
- Familiarity with pipe threading techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
