Police Patrol Officer is responsible for patrolling an assigned area to prevent and discover crime and to enforce regulations. Responsible for responding to calls, taking necessary action at the scene of crime or disturbance, conducting investigations, making arrests, testifying in court, and completing reports/forms and routine paperwork. Being a Police Patrol Officer requires an associate degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 12 to 18 months of law enforcement experience. Requires Firearms Certification. Additionally, Police Patrol Officer typically reports to a police sergeant. The Police Patrol Officer works under moderate supervision.     - Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
    - Arrest and process individuals suspected of committing crimes
    - Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents and activities
    - Provide testimony in court proceedings as necessary

    Responsibilities:

    Requirements:

    • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Must not be older than 39 years of age at time of appointment
    • Must be a United States Citizen
    • Must possess a valid driver's license
    • Must be certified in CPR/AED or able to obtain upon hiring.
    • Must have strong conflict management skills to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and effective communication with the public.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Currently holds a basic certification from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA).
    • Prior experience in law enforcement or military service

    Pay: $57,133.44 - $63,183.12 per year
