Police Patrol Officer is responsible for patrolling an assigned area to prevent and discover crime and to enforce regulations. Responsible for responding to calls, taking necessary action at the scene of crime or disturbance, conducting investigations, making arrests, testifying in court, and completing reports/forms and routine paperwork. Being a Police Patrol Officer requires an associate degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 12 to 18 months of law enforcement experience. Requires Firearms Certification. Additionally, Police Patrol Officer typically reports to a police sergeant. The Police Patrol Officer works under moderate supervision.     Basic Recruit- Non Certified $19.24

    Certified Lateral Transfer $20.28-$28.08 (based on experience)

    Minimum Qualifications:

    21 Years of Age

    High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

    Valid KY Operators License or the ability to obtain one

    No Prior Felony Convictions

    No Emergency Protective Orders or Domestic Violence Orders

    Honorable Discharge or General Discharge with Honorable Conditions if prior Military

    Pass the KY Peace Officers Professional Standards Examinations, Physical Agility Examination, Drug Screen, Polygraph, Background Examination

    Successfully complete 20 Week Department of Criminal Justice Training Basic Academy.
