Police Records Clerk maintains the records filing system and/or database used to manage, access, and preserve electronic and paper records of criminal justice activities. Assists in providing accurate and clear information to public and other departments. Being a Police Records Clerk may perform other clerical duties including taking photographs, fingerprints, and answering telephone inquiries. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Police Records Clerk typically reports to police sergeant or police lieutenant. The Police Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The Olney Police Department is looking for community-minded people for the position of Police Officer. We are looking for Officers that want to be part of the Olney community. Olney has a population of 3,200 citizens. The salary is dependent on Certifications and Experience.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age.
Must be a United States Citizen.
Must have high school diploma or GED.
Must be TCOLE Certified.
Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation.
Must be able to pass physical and psychological testing.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Must have no convictions of felonies or disqualifying misdemeanors.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must have valid Texas Driver’s License or can be obtained.
Must be able to qualify with a handgun, shotgun, and rifle.
Take-Home Vehicle Program - 2021 or newer Chevrolet Tahoe (lease program) Must live within 5 miles of city limits to have take-home car, after completion of F.T.O. training.
Must have an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, if applicable. Applicants must submit a completed City Application which can be found on our website as well as a completed TCOLE Personal History Statement with all required documents and a Notarized Information Release, both of which can be found on TCOLE’s website.
