Police Sergeant is responsible for supervising patrol officers and agents as assigned and maintaining the chain of command within the operations of the department. Responsible for developing training programs for department personnel, directing special units, preparing special reports or projects as assigned, receiving and reviewing reports from officers, and assigning personnel in accordance to specific needs. Being a Police Sergeant requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 5-7 years of law enforcement experience. Position Summary:
UW-Platteville seeks applications for three University Police Officer positions. The Police Officer is a sworn law enforcement position and must be capable of providing a full range of law enforcement services by enforcing local and state laws and University regulations on the UW-Platteville Campus under limited, general supervision; conducting general investigations; performance of security and various other services to the University Community; attend required meetings and training programs; implement emergency procedures. These positions will work in a wide variety of outdoor and indoor settings, including working in adverse weather conditions.
