Additionally, Policy Change Director typically reports to top management. The Policy Change Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     About the Position
    Undergraduate teaching in the UEPP Department, with programs in urban planning/design, sustainability, studio courses, and environmental/natural resource policy. Our programs emphasize engaged pedagogies and critical perspectives. We encourage and collaboratively work within the nexus of urban/natural/environmental planning and policy. Please refer to the UEPP courses listed in the WWU catalog.

    Required Qualifications
    • Masters or doctorate in a related field from an accredited institution. Under exceptional circumstances, a candidate with a BA or BS and a minimum of 5 years experience can be considered.
    • Evidence of community designs, models, exhibitions, community service learning, and other applied works.
    • Demonstrated teaching abilities in planning and policy history, methods, applications, theory, and related planning and policy fields.
    • Demonstrated continued learning of current, advanced knowledge and practices in planning and policy fields.
    • Demonstrated continued engagement in related discipline and/or professional activity.
    • Demonstrated ability to cultivate learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds and the ability and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within the department.
    • Record of supporting the success of students or professionals traditionally underrepresented in the field.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Teaching, research, and service within the planning and public policy professions.
    • Skill in experiential and critical pedagogies suitable to classroom and field settings.
    • Ability to manage field practicum logistics and planning, including working with community partner organizations or other entities.
    • Successful teaching experience using an online learning management system, such as Canvas.

    Starting salary of $1,385 per credit. Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
