Additionally, Policy Change Director typically reports to top management. The Policy Change Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Policy Change Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The United States Space Force (USSF) at the Pentagon is searching for a Deputy Director for Civilian Policy and Programs (NH-0201-04, GS14/15 equivalent).

    Description:
    The United States Space Force's (USSF) Chief Human Capital Office (CHCO) is looking to hire its next Deputy Director for Civilian Policy and Programs. If you are a well-versed, experienced Federal Human Resources professional that is excited about HR, leading people, transformation and change, then keep reading.
    The stand up of a military department offers a very challenging, yet rewarding, experience to apply your transformation and out-of-the-box thinking in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, forming and shaping each program. S1C is responsible for the design and management of civilian personnel policy and programs for the USSF; we are pathfinders, passionate about data and taking care of our Guardians. The Deputy Director is responsible for the coordination, integration and implementation of all policies, directives and strategy for the service.

    About the organization:

    S1C is comprised of 4 branches and oversees the policy, programs and performance for the Headquarters, 3 Field Commands, 2 Direct Reporting Units, and the Enterprise Talent Management office in more than 120 geographical locations world-wide.

    This position is non-supervisory and reports to the S1C Director, who reports to the Chief Human Capital Officer (SES, Tier 3). The CHCO is a direct report to the Chief of Space Operations (4 Star General).

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
    • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.

    • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
