Policy Change Supervisor jobs in Columbia, SC

Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of insurance policy change technicians to ensure that policy changes and requests are carried out according to established guidelines. Determines action on changes for which a policyholder has applied, but which are not covered by policy provisions, and computes costs or allowances for policy changes. Being a Policy Change Supervisor contacts policy owners and field agents with pertinent information that may affect a policy change. Does not have underwriting approval. Additionally, Policy Change Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Policy Change Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. The Newberry facility is a part of our Commercial HVAC business and manufactures Modular and Magnetic Bearing Chillers.  This facility is experiencing tremendous business growth and transformation.     If you have experience with lean manufacturing and have implemented continuous improvement tools and techniques, then we want to hear from you.

     

    Responsibilities:

    ·       Conducting process mapping to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of current operations; Review existing and new procedures/controls to identify waste and build plans and organize teams to change. 

    ·       Planning and executing Rapid Improvement Events or Just Do Its to eliminate waste from processes resulting in improved productivity.

    ·       Training/coaching line leaders or office staff in assigned area on problem solving behaviors and basic Lean principles, including flow, on demand, zero defects, standardized work and visual management.  

    ·       Support adherence to event Rapid Improvement Event standard work by ensuring high levels of engagement and collaboration during pre-work, event week and post event weeks. 

    ·       Fostering culture change by training, developing and coaching employees to adopt lean principles behaviors and follow the principles and practices of OpEx. 

    ·       Collaborating with the Value Stream Coach, Department Managers and Supervisors to resolve any issues that arise during implementation and/or maintenance phases.

     

    Qualifications:

    ·       Effective communication and presentation skills to various audiences.

    ·       Ability to facilitate a group’s activities and discussions using a defined process.

    ·       Viewed as leader who can energize and motivate inclusive teams, and a positive influencer of change.

    ·       Associates or Bachelor of Science degree or related discipline preferred (Equivalent education / training / or experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree).

    ·       Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement based tools and techniques required.

    Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000
