Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of insurance policy change technicians to ensure that policy changes and requests are carried out according to established guidelines. Determines action on changes for which a policyholder has applied, but which are not covered by policy provisions, and computes costs or allowances for policy changes. Being a Policy Change Supervisor contacts policy owners and field agents with pertinent information that may affect a policy change. Does not have underwriting approval. Additionally, Policy Change Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Policy Change Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     SAIC's Space and Intelligence Business Group has an opening for a Launch Policy Engineer who provides strategic support to the local squadron commander and launch policy support to the Launch Enterprise Policy Office, to include governance, policy, business functions, briefings, interagency support, action item responses, strategic planning, risk management, and Launch Enterprise documentation.

    • Advise and assist the Government through review, analysis, interpretation, impact assessments and alternatives/recommendations to proposed changes in any programmatic area
    • Develop, draft, and coordination action item responses
    • Develop and draft implementation strategies, priorities, and policy positions
    • Develop and implement strategic positions and requirements
    • Provide strategic support to ensure government equities are protected in accordance with policy and governance
    • Develop and coordinate interagency launch policies and governance products
    • Evaluate current and proposed policy/processes/procedures for identification of efficiency or effectiveness improvements
    • Administer a process for ensuring consistent and current documentation, process, and procedures
    • Ensure documents, processes, and procedures adhere to approved policies, directives, and guidelines, including identifying any non-compliances and developing approaches to return to compliance
    • Provide interagency support to include drafting and coordinating interagency agreements supporting the Launch Enterprise
    • Lead/host/facilitate and develop products for collaborative launch forums
    • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between government customers and external/internal stakeholders
    • Assess issues associated with tasks/projects and develop resolutions to satisfy customer goals and objectives
    • Facilitate and participate in organizational meetings and prepare associated briefings and status reporting
    • Frequent interaction with government senior decision makers, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders, and development contractors

    Qualifications

    Qualifications, including training and education:

    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience
    • TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
    • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
    • Strong communication and coordination skills necessary
    • Understanding of handling sensitive information with discretion

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Three years of space launch experience
    • Three years of policy experience
