Policy Change Technician jobs in Gainesville, FL

VOCAL (Voices of Change Animal League) is actively seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our non-profit community clinic and resource center. We are dedicated to serving animals in our community through our innovative and compassionate programs designed to help keep pets in their homes and aid in minimizing the homeless pet population.

The ideal candidate for this position will love working with animals in a fast-paced, upbeat, progressive environment. VOCAL is seeking someone passionate about non-profit veterinary care who is forward thinking and an excellent problem solver. They should enjoy working on a team and being an active and engaged employee. The vet tech will work with public clients as well as 501c3 rescue groups.

Core Responsibilities include:

- Monitoring anesthesia for surgery patients

- Sedating feline and canine patients for surgery
- Inducing and intubating patients
- Monitor recovery patients post-op

- Clean and sterilize clinic after surgery

Basic Requirements:
- Vet tech certification preferred but not required

- Past vet tech experience

- Comfortable giving IM, SQ, and IV injections

- Experience using proper restraint techniques on animals
