Oil Change Technician

Job Summary

The Oil Change Technician will perform maintenance work on company vehicles.

• Inspects parts for damage or wear and relaces parts as needed.
• Inspects the oil filter to make sure it is not damaged or clogged.
• Records oil change data such as mileage driven since last oil change, type of oil used, and type of filter installed.
• Changes oil, oil filters, and lubricant additives in vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.
• Installs new oil filters and adds oil to vehicles.
• Recommends maintenance services such as brake repairs, transmission repairs, and engine overhauls.
• Checks fluid levels in the transmission, power steering system, and brake system to ensure they are full.
• Lubricates drive line and equipment on vehicles.
• Replaces fuel and air filters as required.
• Assists maintenance foreman on tasks as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of the specialized area and general vehicle repair.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
• Ability to read work orders.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience.
• Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with odors present.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions.
