Local Housing Company / Application Processing Clerk

Job Duties:

• Process applications for low-income housing, following timeline, policies and procedure.
• Conduct calls/faxes/emails for landlord references, police clearance, character references, etc.
• Make reminder calls and maintain applicant correspondence in person, online or by mail.
• Keep detailed and legible records of correspondences.
• Access digital and paper files for inactive and active residents. Search move out files
• Operates the computer as necessary with applicant information.
• Explains, discusses and answers questions.
• Answers the telephone, transfer lines;
• Copies supply forms used in the office.
• Assists, when necessary, with any other duty as directed by the supervisor.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Correctly learn, interpret, explain and apply housing authority policies and procedures, organization and operating details of the function to which assigned.
• Work effectively with people from a variety of social, economic and racial backgrounds.
• Application packets are prepared, maintained and completed in a timely manner.
• Department files are appropriately maintained.
• Assistance and supported are provided as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Must have a 7-year clean background
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid Texas Drivers License.
