Policy Processing Clerk modifies, updates, and processes existing insurance policies and claims to reflect any change in beneficiary, amount of coverage, or type of insurance. Evaluates information from application for policy reinstatement for completeness and accuracy. Being a Policy Processing Clerk may approve policy if all criteria's are met. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Policy Processing Clerk typically reports to a supervisor. The Policy Processing Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Qualifications:
Must have ASN or BSN degree from an accredited college
Must have an active RN license in the state of Virginia
Experience in long-term care preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals
Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions
Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing in a long-term care facility
