Cold Locker is seafood production and a cold storage warehouse facility domiciled under one roof, making it a shared multi-use facility. The collective team maintains BRC food safety certificates and on-the-job safety to support the food products we store, produce, and handle. Building experience within the food sector will earn the applicant universal knowledge in an industry that feeds the world.

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician with experience within the food sector, preferably in Alaskan seafood, to support management. This means understanding the fundamentals of Alaskan seafood, including the quality attributes. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to document findings and communicate exceptions. The work takes place in a cold environment. The position combines working both on the floor as well as the QA lab in order to document and communicate findings. The Technician directly reports to QA Management to ensure group awareness, operational efficiency, food safety and compliance, and customer service.

Job Duties:

• Provides ongoing visual, probing and laboratory analysis of fresh and frozen seafood to ensure food safety and customer specifications are followed.
• Assures all label requirements follow customer specifications.
• Provides up-to-date written communication to the customer relative to deviance in product related to size, color or grade in compliance with customer specifications.
• Maintains organized and accurate records for all inspections related to incoming and outgoing product .
• Provide reliable and accurate glaze and in-fill information related to Work Orders.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 1 years successful & proven QA experience in Processing Food Environment (preferred)
• Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in cool /wet environment
• Ability to work in a safe manner with all processing and testing equipment
• HACCP certification (Preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
• Clear communication (oral and written) skills
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
• Reliability
• Ability to do basic math (including percents, adding, subtracting, dividing, & multiplying)
