Polysomnographic Technician under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Being a Polysomnographic Technician typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Job Summary
Performs diagnostic testing and procedures related to the sleep disorders and neurodiagnostic center. Provides care to patients of all ages.
Consistently and accurately perform patient care activities per established guidelines and in accordance with prescribed safety standards for operation of equipment. Ensure quality of patient care.

Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner per established guidelines. Maintain work environment, supplies and equipment per established guidelines. Maintain current knowledge of trends, regulation, equipment, policies and procedures pertaining to functional area.
Education
Successful completion of an accredited Polysomnographic Technologist program or Respiratory Care Program preferred.
Experience/Training
Minimum one (1) year related experience in a sleep lab.
License/Certifications
Current Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification or Current Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner license required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) healthcare provider BLS certification required.
