Polysomnographic Technician under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Being a Polysomnographic Technician typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Works under the supervision of the Sr. Administrative Director/ Cardiopulmonary Services or designee, Supervisor and upon the orders of a physician. Performs technically high quality PSG testing as outlined in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
Education: Successful completion of training in polysomnography with registration achieved.
Licensure: California State Polysomnographic Technologist license required. Registered through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) required. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required.
Experience: One (1) year experience in Sleep Medicine Center or EEG preferred.
The hourly rate for this position is $40.43 - $50.54. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
