Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Being a Polysomnographic Technician typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. JOB SUMMARY
The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for preparing, administering, and collecting data that are part of research and clinical duties. Also responsible for technical aspects of laboratory functioning, including maintenance and operation of polygraphs, computers, and other physiological monitoring instruments.
Other research-related duties include protocol compliance related to PSG data, psychometric assessments, vital signs, venipuncture, phlebotomy processing, ECG, and safety assessments.
