Polysomnographic Technician under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Being a Polysomnographic Technician typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Expected pay for this position is $26.46 - $31.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Polysomnographic Technologist II works collectively with the Medical Director, Leader, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder function testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee and provides supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee and Polysomnographic Technologist I. A Polysomnographic Technologist II is credentialed in sleep technology.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Must obtain one of the following. o Successful completion of an accredited educational program with emphasis in polysomnography. o Successfully transitioned into a polysomnographic technologist I AND successfully obtained credentialing in sleep technology. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics). • Second credential may include one of the following. o BRPT (Certification in Clinical Sleep Health) CCSH o NBRC (Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT o (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) ABRET o (Registered Encephalography Technologist) R.
