Northfield Industries is hiring for an experienced Project Manager (Manufacturing) in Schaumburg, IL due to growth through onboarding new OEM’s. The fastest-growing new accounts are John Deere and Yaskawa. The John Deere and Yaskawa project manager will be the customer’s main point of contact and responsible for every stage of the manufacturing cycle.
Interaction with the customer includes business development and submitting pricing, monitoring customer portals, engineering reviews, PPAP orders, forecasted business, on-time delivery, and tracking KPIs. Internally the project manager will work with our domestic and offshore quoting, purchasing, engineers, and production and scheduling team members.
As the Project Manager you are:
QUOTING
-
Responsible for receiving quoting inquiries, pulling drawings and specifications from John Deere and Yaskawa’s supplier portal, recording details into a master spreadsheet, and facilitating the necessary information to purchasing and engineering for pricing purposes.
- Responsible for following up with Purchasing and engineering so pricing can be provided in a timely manner.
- Liaison between PMG and John Deere/Yaskawa when questions and clarification needed
- Responsible for submitting pricing in the customers portal using their quote form. Ensure all specifications and notes are quoted before submitting pricing – heat treat, plating, paint, broaching, etc.
Technical Review

Ensure team members are available and prepared for DPAR’s.

Coordinate with Tier 2 supplier for tech review & process detail
- Complete walk through with team members internally before official DPAR with JD/Yaskawa.
Project tracking

Create Gannt chart of milestone events needed to be accomplished from project launch until production.

Work with Foundry and outside suppliers to ensure they hit due dates.
- Coordinate weekly internally & customer (if required) meeting to update project status and plan for next step

Keep track of tooling PO, PPAP PO, freight cost & special cost for proper invoicing
PRODUCTION

Responsible for receiving purchase orders and inputting them in our ERP system.

Lead supply chain review meeting to make sure supply chain, material and production scheduling will meeting customer order due date

Customer service liaison between the customer and PMG. Answer any questions regarding on time delivery, production, inventory, etc.
SHIPPING/RECEIVING

Coordinating with the customers shipping department for paperwork and scheduling with their Logistics coordinator.

Daily coordination with PMG’s shipping department to ensure packaging meets customer standard.
To be successful in the role you must possess:-
Bachelor of Science Degree required

CNC machining and engineering background preferred

Minimum of 1 year business-to-business technical sales

Demonstrable success in key account management, sales growth, customer satisfaction and new customer acquisitions

Able to quickly read and interpret customer designs

Ability to develop business relationships, collaborative partnerships and work closely with technical resources. Excellent relationship-building skills
