Responsible for managing, evaluating, and monitoring key or complex investment portfolios comprised of bonds, securities, and equity funds in a banking environment. Being a Portfolio Manager monitors daily investment activities to be aware of market changes. Considers legal and tax impact of investment decisions. In addition, Portfolio Manager may manage a team of portfolio manages. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1. Being a Portfolio Manager gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Portfolio Manager is responsible for maintaining knowledge of the Clinical Capital Equipment/Healthcare Technology contract portfolio and communicating the benefits and value of that portfolio to both internal and external audiences.


    The contract portfolio managed tends to include:

    • mostly multi-source or optional contracts that require less conversion activity, or
    • mostly categories less than $25m in spend, or
    • mostly categories that are less sensitive to members (e.g. commodities).

    What you will do in this role:

    The Portfolio Manager must have a mid-to-high level knowledge of the contracts, suppliers and products in their portfolio.

    Communication:

    • Communicate contract portfolio benefits and value. Audiences include:
    • HealthTrust account management team

    Advisory Boards:

    • Current members (materials management, end-users)
    • Suppliers (national acct manager)

    Portfolio Management:

    • Manage, maintain and improve the performance of the contract portfolio, both operationally and financially.
    • Construct and manage simple contract amendments with supplier
    • Address product additions, deletions and changes during contract term.
    • Be the liaison between sourcing, account management, and customer service.
    • Understand supplier new product offerings and collaborate with advisory board lead and business unit leader to assess products.
    • Develop contract launch materials and ensure all contract materials are maintained accurately in HealthTrust systems.
    • Oversee contract implementation with supplier and communication of contract implementation to HealthTrust account management.

    Customer Service:

    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Including but not limited to: resolving customer issues (pricing, locs, product complaints, etc.)
    • Oversee product recall communications.
    • Assist account management with member needs related to portfolio (materials management and end-user level)

    Portfolio Promotion:

    • Develop strategies and tactics to promote contract portfolio.
    • Marketing/promotional opportunities
    • Contract Launch / Contract Lunch-and-Learns
    • Newsletters, bulletins, and other communication tactics.

    Sourcing Process Knowledge:

    • Basic understanding of sourcing process

    Collaboration:

    Collaboration required:

    • with legal staff on development and finalization of simple amendments
    • with contract analysts on product/price loading of amendments
    • with communications team on contract launch/implementation
    • with account management in their member-facing duties related to the portfolio
    • with sourcing team as contracts transition to bid cycle
    • with board leads to resolve member reported product quality issues

    Supplier Relationship Management:

    • Manage and maintain supplier relationships.
    • Conduct supplier business reviews
    • Scorecard supplier performance
    • Build collaborative working relationships

    Supplier Knowledge:

    • Basic understanding or aptitude to develop supplier knowledge.

    Contract Compliance:

    • Report contract compliance issues to supervisor and account management.

    Policies & Procedures:

    • Maintain timely achievement of all assigned initiatives ensuring activities adhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of business conduct.

    Guidance:

    • Receives guidance from mid-level and senior leaders.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Accredited College Bachelor's Degree or comparable related work experience.
    • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience preferred

    Relevant work experience includes, but is not limited to:

    • contract/portfolio management
    • overseeing supplier relationships
    • account management of a client where duties include implementation or support related to a contract portfolio.
