    Role:
    Responsible for providing and ensuring exceptional member experience to both internal and external members in alignment with credit unions service standards. Position is responsible for the development and administration of a sound credit culture by appropriately assessing the risk, and diligently managing the portfolio. Performing duties within credit union regulations, procedures, and policies as well as all state and federal guidelines. This individual will be a partner to our team of Commercial Lenders, striving to balance sales and credit quality goals and be looked to as an expert on structuring and credit policy. This individual will be responsible for cash flow and financial spreads in support of annual reviews/ new loan origination, financial analysis of client/prospect financial statements, projections, and business plans, borrower covenant compliance, loan modification/ renewal support as well as real estate appraisal reviews and validation. In addition, the Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager directs and coordinates the credit analysis function, including the application and review of commercial lending procedures and practices by performing commercial loan underwriting

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    30% = Manages directs and coordinates all activities of the credit department to ensure achievement of strategic credit and lending objectives. Developing and implementing procedures and practices concerning underwriting in accordance with Credit Union Policies and Regulations. Responsible for internal loan review program to ensure that loan related activities follow policy and all federal and state laws and regulations. Responds as needed to loan review and regulatory agencies as exams are being performed and works with commercial services team and leadership to address externally and internally identified exceptions including loan documentation, credit data and credit administration. Ensures soundness of the portfolio by consistently monitoring the credit performance through financial analyses, annual performance reviews, adherence to covenants, collateral adequacy, delinquencies, and credit problems. Brings forward all issues to loan officer and Director of Commercial Services.

    25% - Effectively communicates with internal and external members and prospective members in alignment with the credit unions service standards. Assisting members or commercial services team members in a timely manner promoting teamwork, respect of opinions, abilities, and contributions of others as part of a cooperative and collaborative environment for the benefit of the organization.

    20% - Supports commercial loan officers in continually monitoring information concerning customer performance and industry to determine that new and existing loans are of an acceptable risk, including assisting in tracking and completion of Annual Review Process and Covenant Monitoring. Includes on-going portfolio maintenance activities and member support for existing credits and prospects. Including monitoring performance of commercial loan portfolio to ensure conformity with lending terms, loan policy and regulatory information.

    20% - Works with loan officers to underwrite financing requests for new and existing members by reviewing financial information and related projections, and cash flow data. Writing clear and concise credit memorandum for lending relationships that highlight key information and areas of concern. Directs follow up with guarantors to obtain required information. Ascertains existence of any regulatory or state compliance requirements that need to be formally addressed prior to credit approval.

    5% - Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

    Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

    Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

    Other Skills:
    1. Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft computer applications to include Word, Excel, and Access.
    2. Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate.
    3. Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment including computer, copy machine, fax, and telephone.

    Work Environment: Work is primarily conducted in the office with flexibility for occasional remote work.
