    Job Summary:
    The Project Estimator – Power Division shall be responsible for putting together complete & detailed proposals for bid projects which are directly related to our Power Division. This position will require a broad spectrum of estimating services, from T&E work, lump sum bids, unit-based projects as well as storm/maintenance contracts. The individual should exhibit exceptional attention to detail, be well organized & possess strong writing skills as needed to complete & submit competitive bid proposals. The ideal candidate shall be able to perform take-offs & submit itemized quote requests to material vendors when applicable.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • This position does not have direct reports.
    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Review all bid documents & determine the total cost of all labor, equipment & materials.
    • Attend pre-bid meetings whether in-person or via conference call.
    • Attend on-site visits or walk-outs if required.
    • Outline a preliminary schedule for the duration of the project & ensure that we are able to adhere to the proposed project’s timeline.
    • Review proposal package components with division leadership in advance of submission. Review contract highlights, unit breakdowns, material quotes, subcontractor quotes and assumptions made.
    • Ensure all bids are submitted by due dates.
    • Review awarded projects with the respective manager(s) and make appropriate handoff connections between customer and construction division.
    • Establish and maintain working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and division partners.
    Qualifications:
    • BS/BA degree, or equivalent in relevant experience
    • 7 years' experience in electric utility industry which includes electric distribution (both aerial & underground), transmission & substation work
    • Familiarity with RUS pricing
    • Ability to read & understand construction contracts & drawings
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
    • Must be able to work efficiently with tight deadlines
    • Must have strong communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to factor in all potential risk factors such as terrain, weather, labor availability, equipment availability, material availability & overall difficulty of the proposed work scope
    • Must be willing to travel throughout our company’s footprint to support our company’s growth potential
