About This Position

The Director, Power Origination will be responsible for defining the power off-take strategy & executing contracts to support our growing business in ERCOT. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Power Origination. This position will be responsible for identifying new customer opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and structuring power off-take agreements.  

Overview of Trading & Origination Team

The team currently has ten employees and is responsible for the structuring and execution of off-take for the project pipeline as well as optimization of the operating fleet to manage merchant exposure.

• Execute on Intersect Power’s power off-take strategy 
• Work with the modeling teams to value proposed off-take transactions in Project models 
• Lead the structuring, negotiation and execution of financeable transactions with target customers
• Act as a SME for power products and ERCOT market
• Manage and grow power offtake customer base across in ERCOT

• 7 years of experience executing power, REC, and capacity transactions
• Experience executing derivatives, including but not limited to swaps and options
• Strong understanding of ISDA and EEI contract forms and project liens
• Deep understanding of competitive electricity markets, particularly ERCOT
• Comfortable managing contract execution from start to finish
• Ability to work on numerous projects at once 
• Strong collaboration skills to work across departments
• Strong quantitative skills and comfort working in Excel financial models
• Comfortable making pitch decks and marketing materials 
• Strong communication skills and able to present to the Executive team & clients
• Ability to envision new off-take concepts & deliver them from concept to transaction execution 
• Robust rolodex of customers & contacts to support the business 
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Business, Engineering or Mathematics

• Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone. 
• Position is part of a remote team, with regular electronic and video communication
• Position requires some travel for company-wide meetups: ~4 weeks total through a calendar year. 

• Salary: USD$160,000- $170,000 base salary with 40-50% annual target bonus
