    We are looking for a Project Director to manage multiple Utility scale projects for our North America division.

     

    What you’ll do:

    • Provide leadership to all assigned utility-scale projects.
    • Provide overall management and assume responsibility for the successful execution of construction of the assigned utility-scale project(s) for the Company.
    • Ensure compliance with Companys Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and all Company and CA, HI, and OSHA safety requirements, policies, and training, including the proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE), ladders and scaffolding.
    • Ensure safety meetings occur and are documented as required by law.
    • Lead and mentor all team members as necessary to ensure that the assigned utility-scale projects are managed, built, constructed and completed safely, efficiently, timely and with utmost quality that represents the Company.
    • Read and interpret Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Landscape drawings.
    • Read and interpret geotechnical, environmental, and other associated consultant reports that are necessary to build projects.
    • Utilize construction related software or other related software to manage budgets, schedules & project documentation.
    • As necessary, work on concurrent projects and activities to ensure project deadlines are met.
    • Ensure suppliers, self-perform teams and subcontractors are completing scheduled tasks on time
    • Collaborate with scheduler and maintain construction schedule to maintain contracted milestone dates
    • Prepare for management review notices of delays to clients, vendors, subcontractors to protect Company from delay damages caused by others.
    • Develop, coordinate, prepare subcontract agreements including complete scopes of work where applicable for new projects.
    • As necessary, perform site evaluations, prepare and document detailed notes and documentation of site conditions for design and engineering, communication to sales and customers, project files and internal reporting.
    • Review estimates, prepare and manage project budgets in accordance with Company procedures.
    • Assist with Pre-Construction subcontractor agreements and material purchases. Have knowledge of standard contracting practices and the ability to understand, write and negotiate standard contract language.
    • Prepare, monitor and report budget variances and forecasts ultimate costs of the project(s) at all times.
    • Ensure subcontractor adherence to contract specifications and schedule. Develop, communicate and implement subcontractor performance expectations.
    • Initiate, prepare, process and review Requests for Information as required by the project.
    • Prepare, process and pursue customer change orders.
    • Provide input and direction to the design team during the design and development of project construction documents. Perform detailed review and back-check of documents for compliance with Company standards.
    • Interface with Public/Private Utility Companies for the design, contract and execution of projects.
    • Interface with municipal officials regarding plan submittals, plan checks, processing and the acquisition of all required permits for the project.
    • Hold weekly construction meetings with clients by phone and or in person.
    • Manage the approval of material submittals for the project. Assemble, collate and process material submissions to project consultants as well as internal departments within Company. Follow submittal protocol. Maintain project documentation throughout the course of the project. Prepare project completion materials for Company and customers.
    • Oversee project commissioning and final reporting.
    • Deliver the project to Company’s Asset Management team.

     

    What you’ll bring:

    • A degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred
    • Ten (10) years of construction experience including two (2) years of construction project management experience, preferably in renewable energy projects, is required
    • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
    • Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards
    • Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently
    • Must excel in customer service and data analysis
    • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
    • Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills
    • Maintain a valid Drivers License and a good driving record
