Position Summary:
The Program Director for the Barker Capital Management and Trading Program is an instructor level position within finance under the Department of Business within the College of Business and Economics. Instruction responsibilities are focused on Barker Program courses and funded seminars. This position also advises finance students in the program. The Program Director collaborates with other faculty teaching courses related to the Barker Program, oversees the recruitment of students into the program as well as the development of student traders in the program. The Barker Program Director oversees student trading accounts and has responsibility for the management of trading and other financial accounts connected with the Barker Program. The Program Director works with the Barker Program Board of Advisors, CBE faculty, faculty from other colleges on the University of Idaho campus, and other external constituents to grow and evolve the program based on changes in the financial markets and the needs of employers.
The Program Director will serve as a champion for the Barker Program, a key element of the experiential learning curriculum within the College of Business and Economics. The incumbent will also serve as a champion for the University of Idaho and higher education, advocate for the College of Business and Economics Purpose, Mission, and Value Statements, and help foster positive changes within the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters of Business Administration or graduate degree in an affiliated field
- Experience teaching finance or extensive private industry experience in financial markets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching in the field of finance
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching within the area of capital markets
- Professional experience in a field related to financial markets
