  • Summary: The function of the Plant Manager position is to oversee the management of all plant operations, with focus on the safe formulation and packaging of all products. This position is key in driving both employee development and the culture of the site’s workforce.

    Core Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Ensures that the Health, Safety, and Environmental standards for the facility are maintained, while leading the efforts visibly on the shopfloor to create and sustain a proactive HSE Culture.
    • Ensures that the standards for both product quality and efficacy are maintained according to the published requirements.
    • Ensures that the production assets of the facility are preserved, while helping initiate and formalize plans to make technology improvements as needed.
    • Ensures that the appropriate production workforce is in place and maintained to meet the production schedule.
    • Ensures that the agreed upon operating budgets are monitored and maintained, while making recommendations and implementing solutions to drive cost improvement.
    • Advises supervisors on issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, and training. Ensures such supervisors or employees are adhering to company policy and administering practices in both fair and equitable manners to their respective teams.
    • Leads and supports investigations for operational deviations, which includes safety, quality, environmental or other compliance incidents.
    • Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with People Business Partner as appropriate.
    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position is directly responsible for leading the plant supervisors and other direct reports, and indirectly responsible for all employees that may reside within the plant. As a member of the ADAMA GA Leadership Team, this role will work hand in hand with other peers within the company, including global counterparts, to help drive improvement for the company.

    Work Environment / Physical Demands
    This job operates in both an office and manufacturing plant environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, media meeting rooms, photocopiers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the Plant Manager will be exposed to elements of the manufacturing environment and will be required to wear the designated PPE.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, walk, including up and down stairs, as well as the unrestricted use of hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    Required Education and Experience
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Engineering, … preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or other related engineering degree.
    • 10 or more years of progressive experience within a manufacturing environment, including the responsibility of managing and developing production teams or other.
    • Knowledge of chemical / mechanical processes, human resource laws and regulations, including employee relations skills and teambuilding experience.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or other formal process improvement programs
    • Knowledge and experience with OSHA/ EPA guidelines as they pertain to manufacturing environments, including exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM).
    • Microsoft Office experience, with exposure to SAP (SBO) as a plus.
    • Previous experience in the crop protection manufacturing segment, or similar manufacturing or chemistry background such as coatings, adhesives, acrylics, or other.
    Travel
    This position may require up to 10% travel, or as needed. Some of the travel could include international.
