Qualifications:

• At least one of the following qualifications is required:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a relevant major
• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a relevant major and two (2) years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant experience with progressive increase in responsibilities 
• A minimum of five (5) years of administrative/ supervisory experience
• Knowledge of state Requirements of Educational Faculties (SREF)
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication skills
• Certification as a Sanitation and Casualty Safety Inspector (SCSI) of educational facilities**Preferred

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Supervises the Plant Operation Specialists and Sites and Grounds team.
2. Maintains the substitute custodian list. Provide supplemental training as requested.
3. Tests, evaluates, and recommends for purchase, custodial supplies and equipment.
4. Assists in the development of custodial staffing levels, work calendars, schedules, and job descriptions.
5. Establishes and maintains district cleaning and sanitation standards in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
6. Assists in the development of district capital budgets.
7. Develops annual operating budget for Plant Operations.
8. Facilitates the timely and cost-effective repair of custodial equipment.
9. Provides for training and technical support for custodians.
10. Coordinates delivery schedules for custodial supplies from the district warehouse.
11. Provides safety guidelines, procedures, and personal protective equipment for the employees in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
12. Provides for inspections and repair of fire equipment.
13. Coordinates waste management and comprehensive pest control programs.
14. Provides the routine maintenance of the swimming pools and equipment.
15. Coordinates the annual comprehensive Fire Safety, Casualty Safety, and Sanitation Inspections of facilities.
16. Assists during times of energy Load Control Events.
17. Serves in any capacity which may be necessary in an emergency.
18. Performs other job-related functions as assigned.
