Power Plant Operations Manager manages and oversees the daily operations of a power generation plant. Monitors operations for efficiency and safety ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are followed. Being a Power Plant Operations Manager directs the implementation of preventative maintenance, emergency and operational plans and procedures. Ensures all applicable regulatory requirements are and safety protocols are followed. Additionally, Power Plant Operations Manager resolves problems and manages resources. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Power Plant Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Gain exposure to the broad range of power generation career paths by shadowing various craft and management level personnel. Learn the basic function and safe use of tools used in power generation. Education   Preferred but not required: Currently enrolled in a 2-4 year program At least a 2.5 cumulative GPA   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.   All candidates should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Interest in learning about what it is like to work in a power plant environment.
