Power Plant Operations Manager manages and oversees the daily operations of a power generation plant. Monitors operations for efficiency and safety ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are followed. Being a Power Plant Operations Manager directs the implementation of preventative maintenance, emergency and operational plans and procedures. Ensures all applicable regulatory requirements are and safety protocols are followed. Additionally, Power Plant Operations Manager resolves problems and manages resources. Responsibilities:
Supervise and perform engineering calculations which will serve as the basis for the fabrication and/or repair of shell and tube heat exchangers at the assigned plant. Manage the schedule of job tasks to be completed and make assignments to reporting engineer and drafters. Attend pre-fabrication meetings and review customer specifications to determine proper design criteria. Select proper weld procedures to be used in the fabrication of heat exchangers with assistance of corporate welding engineer in getting these procedures approved for use. Ensure job release information is provided to internal customers, and interface with both internal and external customers to provide engineering assistance. Ensure calculations are made using COMPRESS, RCS, PVElite/CodeCalc, and NozzlePro systems and make computer-based design calculations for new work and for repair work when required. Hand or spreadsheet calculation development may be required depending on scope of work. Ensure bills of material for long-lead items at the beginning of jobs and for the balance of material after drawings are finalized. Check the design work of reporting engineer and drafters. Provide for the safe design of equipment to limit company liability. Perform other related duties as assigned.
