Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads manufacturing orders for important customer information and details.
Evaluates the quality of the starter piece.
Assembles wires into starter piece.
Monitors the following quality areas throughout the assembly process:
Twist, Bow, Curve, Ends, Belt Width, Tightness, Parallel, Skips, and Bend Test.
Performs the bend test at the beginning of each belt and every three hours.
Rerolls the belt upon completion.
Helps monitor quality of belt during reroll upon completion.
Uses pneumatic staple gun to make the proper size cardboard box.
Writes correct information on the box.
Bands the box and places in the designated area.
Bows belts (either positive or negative) as required.
Repairs edges using wire cutters and pliers.
Uses saw to cut cardboard poles.
Edge bending using bending dies.
Make splice clips.
Work at different workstations as production needs require.
