Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. With your attention to detail, you conduct and complete reports during the disassembly of equipment. Job Responsibilities To evaluate the mechanical operation of each machine or piece of equipment. Provide the necessary repairs or installs of the equipment. You also position beams to support bedplates by using blueprints and schematic drawings. From hoists and jacks to man lifts and overhead cranes, you safely and expertly handle all hand or power tools as well as large, industrial equipment. As needed, you layout equipment mounting holes, shrink-fit various items, and insert shims, adjust tension, or position parts to specified clearances. Job Qualifications 5 years of millwright experience Ability to operate rigging, cranes, and other heavy equipment as well as review and understand blueprints and drawings. Your own set of millwright tools Mechanical aptitude a must Ability to meet the physical requirements of this positions such as lift 50 pounds routinely.
