Precision Assembler jobs in Nassau, NY
Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Required Skills
- Perform all assembly functions at an acceptable standard level
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, setup and repair of machinery
- Use Power tools as required
- Reports all damaged goods and or scrap to supervisor
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
- Must have some assembly experience
- Must be able to read and understand shop drawings
- Must be knowledgeable in the use and operation of all hand power tools
- Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
- Has some knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment under this classification
- Must be capable of working under minimum amount of supervision
- Able to effectively communicate
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships
- Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
