Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Under general supervision, perform mechanical assembly and test of moderate complexity in accordance with established procedures.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (not listed in any particular order)

    • Assemble and test electro-mechanical equipment per engineered drawings or as instructed by others.
    • Uses hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tapes, gauges, calipers, micrometer
    • Inspect completed components for accuracy and functionality.
    • Perform hydrostatic test on components as necessary.
    • Properly maintain company supplied tooling and maintain an orderly work area
    • Aid in developing of new procedures and improving existing procedures.
    • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
    • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
    • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

    Requirements:

    • 2 years assembly/test experience
    • Good verbal communication skills.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
    • Ability to read assembly layouts and manufacturing drawings.
    • Ability to read a measuring tape, micrometer and calipers.
    • Ability to safely operate material handling devices (overhead cranes, forklifts).
    • General knowledge of assembly procedures.
    • Ability to be an effective team member.
