Precision Assembler performs precision assembling, aligning, or adjusting within very tight tolerances. Follows schematics and specification documents to complete measuring, fitting, wiring, and soldering of components to assemble units. Being a Precision Assembler calibrates and tests subcomponents and finished products to ensure quality and functionality. Inspects produced parts for quality assurance, identifies defects and makes adjustments. Additionally, Precision Assembler uses standard hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and dial calipers. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Precision Assembler works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Assembler Shift:
- 1st shift
- Starting at 14.00 an hour
- Read and follow wire harness/ cable assembly instructions.
- Route, wire, and assemble electronic components using wire layout boards.
- Operate semi-automatic equipment (such as crimp presses, wire twisters, and wire stripers).
- Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using friendly test fixtures.
- Use a soldering iron to solder wires to connectors.
- Previous assembly/ production experience and a strong mechanical aptitude
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and excellent hand dexterity
- Proficient in basic math skills
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Lifting requirements: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/ or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Ability o distinguish colored wires for accurate assembly purposes
- Handle small parts
- Perform pull/push monitors up to 10 pounds frequently
