Position Opening Announcement

2024-2025 School Year

Heartland Career Center is searching for a dynamic individual to positively affect high school students in the area of Precision Machining Technology.

This full-time position will begin August 2, 2024.

Expectations:

Teaching the principles of Precision Machining Technology following the framework of the Indiana Department of Education Precision Machining Technology curriculum which includes:

• Safety and appropriate workplace behavior and characteristics
• Interpret detail and assembly drawings of tooling and related components.
• Identify the basic parts and applications of measuring and layout tools.
• Think critically and independently, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate technical problems and information.
• Apply feeds and speeds calculations for given material and tooling combinations.
• Identify and demonstrate correct setup and operation of tooling applications for the conventional milling and lathe applications.
• Understand and apply basic CNC mill and lathe set up and operations.
• Apply advanced manufacturing principles as it relates to the manufacturing industries in this region.
• Demonstrate basic employability skills.

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will possess successful career experience in the Precision Machining field within the Advanced Manufacturing industry or comparable educational environment.
• Ability to develop rapport and demonstrate professionalism with high school students, parents, staff and community.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative environment of education professionals to create the best career ready skills for our students.
• Be willing to continually strive to build a skill set that meets the needs of our students, educational partners and potential employers.
