PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR

  • Duties

    • You will follow written calibration procedures and apply comprehensive trade knowledge of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical principles to calibrate and certify equipment.
    • You will use basic concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to determine the effect of temperature, humidity and other variables on the equipment undergoing calibration.
    • You will use a variety of hand and power tools to make incidental repairs, corrections and adjustments.
    • You will use computer systems and software to maintain records, record results, and control documents.

    • You will be required to be CPR certified for this position.
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required level(s) of certification and/or training.
    • You must be able to lift, carry, pull, and push objects weighing from 15-44 pounds. Any weight to be lifted in excess of 40 pounds will not be attempted unaided.
    • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Performing routine and repetitive calibration, disassembly, testing, and installation on precision measurement equipment; 2) Applying knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate and certify a variety of electrical, electronic, and/or physical/dimensional test, measurement and diagnostics equipment (TMDE); 3) Utilizing various measurement equipment and standards such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, measurement machines to diagnose calibration problems; and 4) Using shop math to determine dimensions and read blueprints to develop material lists. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
