Press Operator - All Widths completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Press Operator - All Widths conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Press Operator - All Widths completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Press Operator - All Widths independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. - Press Operator-Rapid City The Rapid City Journal is seeking a full time press operator to join the team that prints multiple newspapers and commercial print orders for the region. Although we are seeking an experienced web press operator, we will train the right person who displays aptitude to learn. The idea candidate will: Be quality oriented Display a mechanical aptitude Ability to distinguish colors Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; work well under pressure Work well in a team and independently as needed Be able to work nights and weekends Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Primary duties include: Put plates on press; monitor printing; identify and correct printing defects Fill and clean ink fountains Set rollers Clean web detectors; clean and maintain presses Other duties as assigned Why Join Us?
