Press Operator - All Widths completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Press Operator - All Widths conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Press Operator - All Widths completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Press Operator - All Widths independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Position: Digital Press Operator (Wide Format).
Description:
Ultimate Image Printing services small to mid-sized companies on a national basis. Our projects are seen throughout industries such as retail stores, experiential events, sporting stadiums, and commercial office spaces. Our continued growth and investment into new technologies have created the need for a qualified Digital Press Operator who can also assist in other departments (finishing, cutting, packing, etc) as needed.The right candidate must have a basic understanding of printing and graphics terminology, excellent computer skills as well as some exposure to handling digital files. We will train the candidate to run our specific EFI/Vutek equipment as well as other finishing equipment.Day Full-time (8am-5pm) shift with OT opportunities and
Swing Shift Full-time (1 pm-10pm) with OT opportunities.Requirements:- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to understand measurements and fractions.
- Operate a forklift/pallet jack to move materials in the warehouse.
- Ability to recognize and visually differentiate colors.
- Detail-oriented and organized with an ability to prioritize work and minimize production downtime.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Mechanically inclined, good with hands.
- Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player.
- Ability to lift, move, load and unload rolls of paper and board substrates into the machines.
- Keep work areas neat, clean and keep materials and tools organized.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Keeps accurate counts of work in progress.
- Flexible work schedule. e.g. mandatory shifts can change from 8hrs-10hrs.
- Ability to work independently and without supervision.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and various shifts. Ability to work with constant exposure to printing inks/chemicals and constant or intermittent sounds.
- Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Involves sitting, walking, or standing for periods of time as well as climbing, balancing, and stooping.
KNOWLEDGE BASE REQUIRED:- PRINTING.
- Operation of machinery and equipment. (Example: Vutek Hybrid UV, Vutek GS5500LXr).
- Knowledge of how to set up and print various print materials.
- Heavy material handling.
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling, greasing, and calibrating machines.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE WOULD BE A PLUS:
LAMINATING/MOUNTING:- Operation of machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of hot/cold laminates and mounting substrates.
- Assist with production of Finishing and packaging of job.
- Heavy material handling.
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling, greasing, and calibrating machines.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
CUTTING TABLES:- Operation of machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of how to set up and cut various print materials.
- Assist with production of Finishing and packaging of job. Including cleaning pieces.
- Heavy material handling.
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling, greasing, and calibrating machines.
- Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.'
