Press Operator Assistant - All Widths jobs in Burlington, VT

Run the folder, tipper or cutter equipment to ensure that all equipment is performing at peak efficiency. Perform other duties as necessary. Experience with Saddle Stitch and Perfect Bound process and equipment.

Roles:

· Verify skid count at the beginning at each shift

· Ensure that all team members understand pertinent quality system standards, reporting deviations to department supervisor immediately

· Produce finished product within established specifications and quality standards

· Operate equipment at speeds that meet - or exceed - identified production standards, within established safety and quality guidelines and standard operating procedures

· Constantly monitor versions and quality of the product, immediately reporting any issues to Supervisor

· Ensure correct versions and counts

· Coordinate delivery and staging of raw material to equipment, ensuring minimal downtime between jobs

Qualifications:

• Mastery of Saddle Stitch bindery process

• Mastery of Perfect Bound bindery process

• Must be able to learn to operate lift trucks

• Demonstrated knowledge of finishing operations.

• Proven technical aptitude necessary to effectively operate small equipment.

• Solid math skills, as well as ability to read a ruler and interpret production sheets and shipping instructions.

• Experience with window-based computer systems.

• Must be highly motivated and quality conscious.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully complete Post Offer/Pre-Employment assessment.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to promote high safety standards among all team members is a must.
