Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Press Operator Assistant - All Widths conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Press Operator Assistant - All Widths completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Job Summary
Packs products as required by customer and company specifications. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions of the productions areas
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Operates pasta press extrusion equipment at required parameters including starting and stopping equipment under normal and emergency situations.
· Maintains the presses and dryers at the established parameters to produce pasta and noodles to customer specification.
· Monitors, adjusts and records product measurements to meet specifications.
· Checks for improper cut / shapes and makes corrections as needed.
· Maintains Quality Control paperwork as specified.
· Monitors the production equipment for failures.
· Provides knife management and preparation.
· Perform with changeovers and changeover sanitation.
· Washes dies.
· Weighs waste at end of shift and record weights on appropriate press sheet.
· Provides sanitation responsibilities.
· Sanitizes and stores dies, die rings, die screens in prescribed manner.
· Other duties as assigned by Lead and/or Management.
· Maintains monthly sanitation and sanitation paperwork.
· Update information about products at the M3 System and print labels when necessary.
Position requirements
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Must be fluent in English language in writing and verbal forms.
· Must have computer skills – Microsoft Office and to use M3 System.
· Must be able to climb ladders and be on a high lift
· Ability to perform all above tasks in an environment of 90 degrees F or greater up to 80% of the shift or greater than 100 degrees F for 30-minute intervals.
· Ability to perform the above tasks in an environment of up to 35% Relative Humidity
· Must be able to rotate between day and night shifts including weekends and holidays and work overtime.
· Must have physical ability and strength to perform assigned tasks.
· Must have good computer skills and be able to work with Microsoft Office including Power Point
· Required to move equipment / dies up to a weight of 150 pounds. Can lift and carry 50 pounds up to 65% of the time.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel, push / pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms 2/3’s of the time.
· Be able to work and perform tasks in a confined space as needed.
· Be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for the whole shift.
· Be able to perform lockout/tagout procedures on equipment once trained.
· Be able to work safely in and around equipment at all times.
