Principal Architect oversees and manages a team responsible for architectural projects. Reviews and approves architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects. Being an Principal Architect has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Ensures architectural designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Additionally, Principal Architect keeps up to date on the development of new architectural methods or techniques. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture. Requires a State Architect's License. Typically reports to a director. The Principal Architect typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Principal Architect typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Basic Function:
The principal’s core responsibility is the improvement of student learning actualized when every student meets all grade level and course expectations within a culturally-responsive learning environment. The Principal is expected to be devoted to curriculum, instruction, professional learning, and the systems necessary to support these. The principal supervises all certified and non-certified personnel serving in the school.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree; Administration Certification; Experience working with diverse populations. Member of IASP. Prior administrative experience. International Baccalaureate Leadership Workshop experience or willingness to participate. Experience working with community agencies and groups. Experience with the day-to-day operation of schools. Strong knowledge of child development. Demonstrated skill in building relationships, trust and respect; Creative and imaginative approach to problems. Ability work effectively with individuals and groups; strong speaking and writing abilities. Bilingual Spanish, Bicultural, Biliterate preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs., sit, stand, walk, speak, hear and use close vision.
