Principal Architect oversees and manages a team responsible for architectural projects. Reviews and approves architectural procedures and techniques used to complete projects. Being an Principal Architect has a diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices, uses advanced techniques, and has responsibility for final specifications, approval of ordered materials, and overall guidance on objectives and concepts. Ensures architectural designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards. Bulls Eye Recruiting is looking for an experienced architect/project manager interested in a leadership role with the potential for partnership in a mid-size firm (currently 15 people on staff). THIS IS A FULLY ONSITE ROLE. HYBRID OR REMOTE EMPLOYEES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
The right candidate will have proven architectural design skills and experience with junior staff development.
Our client is a full-service firm with a track record of great projects primarily throughout Texas (Austin, Houston, Bryan/College Station, Ft. Worth) but with projects in other states and countries. The senior staff architect will, at a minimum:
• Currently be living in the US and have experience working for a US architecture firm (engineering degree/experience not acceptable substitution)
• Have a thorough knowledge of residential and/or commercial codes and construction
• Maintain a good working relationship with municipal personnel
• Have a thorough understanding of different construction types, UL assemblies and insulating and water proofing systems
• Develop accurate cost proposals for new projects based on client and local requirements
• Establish concept drawings for projects taking into consideration the site plan and development restrictions
• Manage Junior staff
o Coordinate and review junior staff drawings
o Direct staff in creating accurate as-builts for residential and commercial remodels
and additions
• Review and coordinate engineering, accessibility, and other outside services
• Work with clients to identify project objectives
• Conduct the final review of projects
• Provide contract administration and draft field reports
• Be able to quickly identify cost effective solutions for expansions and/or additions
Candidate must have:
• EXPERIENCE IN AN ARCHITECTURE FIRM (engineering will not be accepted
as a substitute)
• Leadership experience
• Willing to work in the office, this is not a telecommuting position
• Experience with AutoCAD at a minimum, and Revit, Sketchup and/or other 3D modeling
software are a plus
• Ability to relocate if necessary
• Availability to work overtime when needed
• A minimum of 10 years of experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients, engineers and municipal staff
• Strong organizational skills
• Authorized to work and located in the US
