SAIC has an immediate opening for an Enterprise Architect to Provide NPES and NNCCRS support to DISA Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) and Joint Staff J36 Deputy Director Nuclear and Homeland Defense Operations (DDNHDO) Nuclear Operations Division (NOD), National Military Command Center (NMCC) Operations Teams (OT), and Operations Training and Standardization Division (OTSD) for day-to-day, exercise, and crisis phases of Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Analytical Support – Responds to requests for Operations Plan (OPLAN) 80XX and NPES database analysis. Applies knowledge of the NPES database structure and creates Oracle SQL queries to satisfy ad hoc tasking. Utilizes NPES applications and retrieval tools to accomplish analytical requirements for JS J36 NOD and National Military Command Center (NMCC). Utilizes Integrated Weapons of Mass Destruction (IWMDT) to model and analyze effects of nuclear detonations and provide fallout, casualty, and fatality predictions.
System Management – Establishes and performs quality assurance practices and procedures to analyze NPES data for accuracy and integrity. Applies daily database updates and reviews system message queues to ensure updates are accurate and complete. Coordinates system downtime for software and database updates. Coordinates system availability for NMCC real-world, exercise, assessment, and training events. Provides expert technical advice and support for NPES operational hardware, software, and communications capabilities. Ensures operational readiness of multiple NPES servers.
Exercise and Assessment Support – Provides preparation, execution, assessment, and post exercise analysis support for NPES related exercise, training, and assessment events. Applies knowledge of formatted NC2 messages to generate appropriate injects to simulate and meet event objectives and update NPES graphic displays and reports. Provides development support and participates in recurring local NC2 training events for the NMCC.
Training – Develops and maintains training materials for NMCC NPES user’s course. Reviews, tailors, and presents course material to the specific needs of the trainees, emphasizing material that supports their duties.
System and Software Testing - Participates in bi-annual NPES software release testing prior to implementation. Conducts system testing on the NPES servers following any modification to the NPES applications, resident databases, operating system, hardware, and communication equipment to ensure continued operational readiness of the system.
Problem Analysis – Monitors the NPES and NNCCRS for any anomalies, malfunctions, or failures. As situations are recognized, employs appropriate analysis and troubleshooting procedures until resolution is achieved. Ensures problems are addressed quickly and effectively, minimizing the impact to systems and JS NPES users.
NPES Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Represents customer as their NPES SME at meetings, conferences and working groups. Maintains rapport
