Print Production Coordinator initiates requests for competitive bids and negotiates with vendors and suppliers to perform print jobs for direct mail, seasonal promotions, sales collateral, and other printed media. Prepares estimates and cost analysis reports for internal budget approval. Being a Print Production Coordinator coordinates and prioritizes print production schedules and print specifications. Reviews all artwork and copy prior to delivery to printers for accuracy and formats. Additionally, Print Production Coordinator reviews and approves mock-ups and proofs, performs final quality assurance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. This position is to maintain an efficient workflow within the production area, including a high level of quality control with frequent time-sensitive orders.
As the Print Production Coordinator, you will participate in daily activities such as :
The Print Production Coordinator provides support to the student employee team in Express Print & Copy area in the absence of the Print & Copy Supervisor and / or as needed as well as ensures first-level support is being provided to customers through the efforts of the student team, stepping in to consult with customers and provide solutions to their printing needs when appropriate.
Additionally, you may resolve difficult situations, such as upset customers or poor performance from student employees. And finally, assist the Print & Copy Supervisor with various duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Experience :
Requires broad experience in the printing industry to obtain a thorough understanding of all printing processes and equipment plus working knowledge of computer software and technical competence to learn new systems, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to balance between competing objectives and priorities.
The required skill set is typically obtained in five years' industry experience. Additional supervisory experience is preferred.
