Reviews all artwork and copy prior to delivery to printers for accuracy and formats. Additionally, Print Production Coordinator reviews and approves mock-ups and proofs, performs final quality assurance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.   • The University of Iowa Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) Research Coordinator Core is seeking a clinical trial research assistant/ data manager to be an integral member of the research team. This position will provide support for the ICTS by performing activities which are vitally important to establish the research core for the department, as well as to grow and foster innovation through research support endeavors.  The clinical trial research assistant/ data manager will apply clinical skills to administer, deliver, and evaluate research protocols. This position will have an initial focus on Neurosurgery and Orthopedics research.

     Duties to include but not limited to:

    ·         Perform clinical/health care research activities in various departments.

    ·         Screen, recruit, enroll and obtain informed consent for clinical research activities.

    ·         Educate patient on scope of study, potential risks and benefits, possible alternatives, and study requirements.

    ·         Assist in the design, development, execution, administration, and maintenance of protocols and clinical studies.

    ·         Participate in the design; development and testing of clinical research trial data systems.

    ·         Acts as a liaison between health care clinical information systems and research data systems.

    ·         Assist with the management and organization of regulatory documentation.

    ·         Assist with preparing regulatory submissions.

    ·         Participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.

    ·         Assist with tracking and reconciling grant/trial budget free balances and identify opportunities to ensure that grant funding is being used as intended and awarded.

    Required Qualifications

    ·         A Bachelor’s degree in a Health Science field or an equivalent combination of education and research experience is required.

    ·         Basic (6 months-1 year) experience working in a clinical setting.

    ·         Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in research is required. 

    ·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

    ·         Ability to work nights and weekends is required.

    ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required. 

    Desirable Qualifications

    ·         Experience performing Pulmonary Function Testing.

    ·         Experience with Electronic Diaries.

    ·         Experience operating ECG equipment and obtaining ECG’s.

    ·         Previous experience writing manuscripts for publication.

    ·         Experience with REDCap, Epic, I-CART, and ACCESS is desirable.

    ·         Previous experience in data collection and entry is desirable.

    ·         Experience in processing research regulatory documents is desirable.

    ·         The ability to work independently is desired.

    ·         Excellent time management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work is desired.
