Position Overview
RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Designer in Virginia Beach, VA; Washington, DC; Indian Head, MD, in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), McAlester Detachment.
**This position is contingent upon contract award. **
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs research to inform design decisions.
- Works with hardware and software engineers to create concepts, refine concepts, and create prototypes of hardware and software, as well as testing designs and products with users.
- Provides sketches, renderings, prototypes, documents, graphics, and experiences.
- Demonstrated experience in design history, detailed knowledge of the history of design and type of design for industry.
- Ability to conceptualize and develop designs for a variety of problems and challenges posed by project leads.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- BA, BS or BFA degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Design.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience leading projects and teams of industrial designers to create designs and generate sketches, rendering, and prototypes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and mastery of software required adaptive manufacturing.
- Secret security clearance or the ability to qualify for such clearance upon employment.
