Printer completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Printer conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Printer completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Printer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. ### Responsibilities:
- Operate screen printing machines and equipment with proficiency, ensuring high-quality print production.
- Prepare screens, mix and match colors, and set up and adjust machines according to specific job requirements.
- Conduct pre-production tests to ensure colors and placements meet the specified requirements.
- Monitor the production process, identifying and resolving any issues to minimize downtime and waste.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, production output, and job specifics for each project.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the production area.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in screen printing is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Screen Printer or similar role in the printing industry.
- Strong understanding of screen printing processes, including ink types, screen preparation, and color matching.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and job priorities.
