Printer completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Being a Printer conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Additionally, Printer completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Printer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Glass Tech is a small screen printing company looking for reliable and highly motivated people with a background in screen printing. Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday from 6:00am to 4:30pm. The Screen Printer is responsible for ensuring that all jobs are produced efficiently and with the highest level of quality achievable. They must effectively set up and tear down every job in the best way possible. The Screen Printer aligns every screen to achieve a print quality that meets the department’s standards. The Operator is required to adjust press settings and change out equipment/tools to produce prints that must match approved artwork.
Responsibilities:
- Operate screen printing equipment to produce high-quality prints on various surfaces
- Prepare screens by coating them with emulsion and exposing them to create stencils
- Mix and prepare inks according to color specifications
- Load and unload materials onto the printing press
- Set up and adjust printing machines for optimal performance
- Monitor print quality and make adjustments as needed
- Clean and maintain printing equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Pull product for jobs producing each day
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in screen printing or a related field is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Knowledge of different printing techniques and materials
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Basic math skills for measuring and mixing inks accurately
