Privacy Director directs and develops the organization's privacy strategy, including policies, procedures, and initiatives. Ensures all business and data management processes reflect privacy requirements and comply with laws and regulations. Being a Privacy Director incorporates regulatory changes into the organization's processes. Plans and directs privacy training programs and communications. Additionally, Privacy Director ensures that compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation are effective. Leads research and prepares communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Privacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Privacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Privacy Change Risk Analyst reports to the front-line data privacy organization, participating in enterprise change initiatives to review privacy compliance risk and working directly with Privacy Compliance and Legal partners to provide feedback to the business to address the privacy risk within the change initiative. The Privacy Change Risk Analyst will be required to understand, analyze, and apply privacy risk and compliance principles to make business process and control recommendations, utilizing policies, procedures, and standards as guidance.

    The Analyst may also be asked to:

    • Produce reports utilizing enterprise change and risk databases and applications to provide information to business leaders. Reports may be in the form of standardized dashboards or customized views of data upon request.

      • Ensure data pulled is consistent with business needs/requests.

      • Apply knowledge of the business to customize reports and deliver meaningful information.

      • Apply a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end data privacy processes/flows and concepts to implement frameworks, processes, controls, models, and solutions to ensure data is effectively managed across the organization or within a specific business unit.

      • Answer questions from end-users of reports to provide additional context.

      • Reporting may be focused on regulatory matters, operational metrics, and productivity metrics.  

    • Drives change initiatives to implement Privacy by Design techniques

      • Applies a comprehensive understanding of data privacy processes/flows and concepts to implement frameworks, processes, controls, models, and solutions for business unit.

      • Be able to apply the organization’s privacy standards

      • Drives out the identification and mitigation of data privacy issues as necessary to support organization priorities. 

      • Identifies and champions the implementation of data privacy processes and practice improvements.

      • Support the need for automation for all deliverables with process efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Deep specialized and/or broad knowledge within a professional discipline.

    • Sound and comprehensive understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes.

    • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges and implement best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

    • Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure.

    • Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities.

    • Sophisticated analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical and business problems.

    • Ability to influence others to adopt a new perspective (new automation, new metrics, new tools etc.)   Focus on process automation to improve efficiency.

    • Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that shape the industry.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA or JD and 5 years of related experience.

    • Previous experience in the banking industry.

    • IAPP Certification – CIPP/US and/or CIPM, current and maintained

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Archer GRC, and Clarity

    • Experience presenting to and creating materials for Board-level Committees and working groups

    • 'Able to identify operational and privacy compliance risks, rate control effectiveness, and design controls where necessary to bring identified risks within risk appetite.

    • Experience creating processes and controls related to privacy and data ethics regulations and guidance, including but not limited to CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, TCPA, and NIST/FFIEC Guidelines.
