  • The Director of Retail Operations will report directly to the Resorts General Manager and will provide key leadership to ensure continued growth and excellent operations in the Resorts Retail establishments. The Director will work with both the General Manager and ownership to maximize its effectiveness, providing a key leadership role to meet goals established by the General Manager. Works to develop positive relationships within the community to create and maintain existing partnerships with Team Members, vendors and Resort guests. The Director of Retail Operations will be a strong manager and creative problem solver who is committed to and enthusiastic about driving revenue to each of the current 4 retail outlets. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Develop the retail Store operations with the goal of being a clean, safe and organized place to shop for resale in each of our 4 shops. Support the budget and operational decisions with documented financial analysis to include profit margins, sales per square foot in total, last year to current year sales comparisons, ROI of marketing expenses to sales, expenses as a percentage of sales, break-even analysis, and inventory management.
    • Responsible for all aspects of the 4 retail spaced while leading retail clerks to achieve the highest standards of retail execution, and customer service.
    • Attain scheduling for business needs with a focus on leveraging team labor.
    • Influence consistent back-of-house operations for efficient processing.
    • Create a safe workplace for employees and shoppers.
    • Mentor and train staff to exceed budgeted objectives for sales and net profits by managing discretionary spending, influencing operational and labor efficiencies,


    Qualifications
    • Able to multi-task, and have exceptional organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proficient in time management
    • Observant to the needs of the retail Team Members and helps when necessary.
    • Must have supervisory experience in a face-to-face, Customer Service environment.
    • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
    • Must lead by example; remain professional in all situations.
    • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests and co-workers.
    • Approach all encounters with guests and Team Members in a friendly, service-oriented manner
    • Must be able to work with and understand financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.
    • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly.
    • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
    • Must be able to work fluctuating schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays maximizing margin through pricing, discounting, and merchandising strategies.

    Responsibilities
    • This position is responsible for, overseeing the retail sales associates, shops, and the, pricing merchandise, and inventory control)
    • This individual is required to carry on-duty phone and be available to work weekends and evenings
    • Responsible for all resorts retail shops and Team Members.
    • Full Understanding of each position in the Retail Department and able to cross-utilize within the department
    • Proficient knowledge of ALL retail distribution and retail shop jobs with the ability to answer pertinent questions
    • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the retail distribution and retail shops results, various projects & deadlines
    • Communicate with Buyers ways to import clarity of purchase orders
    • Monitor Inventory process
    • Responsible for the inventory, i.e., receiving, and pricing of merchandise, as well as, the coding of invoices for Accounts Payable
    • Maintain associate scheduling
    • Responsible for the "signing off" of payroll and the weekly reports for the Payroll Department
    • Responsible for weekly coaching of all retail associates on good and bad habits to improve job performance.
    • Responsible for interviewing, participating in job fairs, and hiring new associates when needed
    • Maintaining the need for change in the shops on a daily basis, i.e. getting change to the stores and confirming everything balances
    • Able to make decisions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • Embrace and have a full understating of the retail POS system.
